How SUDC Help Familes
Minimize
The SUDC Program can assist you when working with families who have experienced a post-infancy sudden unexpected pediatric death.

We can:
  • provide support services that include the peer support of trained SUDC parent and grandparent volunteers
    • A monthly in-person support group is held in north New Jersey that gathers families from the NJ, NY and CT region.
  • provide accurate information regarding sudden unexpected and unexplained childhood deaths
  • provide accurate and up to date medical information evaluated by our Medical and Investigational Advisory Board for surviving family members and future pregnancies.  This includes resources for multi-disciplinary clinics who genetically evaluate surviving family members of a sudden unexpected death.
  • provide accurate information regarding research opportunities and findings in the area of SUDC
  • provide long term information sharing regarding the advancement of medical knowledge surrounding SUDC.
(More detailed information on our complete services for families is available here.)
We accept pending cases, and prefer the contact with families as soon as possible after the initial autopsy is inconclusive.

We recommend our SUDC specific informational and support services to all families who have experienced a sudden unexpcted pediatric death in addition to general bereavement grief support services in your area.
